He earned his Ph.D. in Biometric Fingerprint Hash Code Generation Methods from Srinivas University (2018), followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2021) from the same institution, where his research focused on Efficient Intelligent Systems for Healthcare Data Management and Delivery under Artificial Intelligence Frameworks.
Academic Career
Dr. Krishna Prasad began his academic journey in June 2006 at the College of Computer and Information Sciences, Srinivas University, Mangaluru. In 2014, he was promoted to Assistant Professor and following the successful completion of his Ph.D. in December 2018, he advanced to the position of Associate Professor.
From September 30, 2022, to December 31, 2024, he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Cybersecurity and Cyber Forensics, and also as In-Charge Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University, Mukka, Mangaluru.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science and Engineering at A J Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru.
Academic and Research Contributions
Dr. Krishna Prasad’s primary research interests include Fingerprint Hash Code Generation, Multifactor Authentication Models, and Intelligent Data Systems. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed research papers in reputed international journals and presented more than 50 papers at national and international conferences.
His scholarly works have received 679+ citations on Google Scholar, reflecting his strong academic impact. He was honored with the Best Researcher Award (2019) at the International Conference on Recent Trends in Arts, Science, Engineering, and Technology, organized by the International American Council for Research and Development (IACRD) and the DK International Foundation.
As a Research Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Srinivas University, he successfully guided six Ph.D. scholars to completion. He has also served as a Board of Examiners (BOE) member for the BCA program at Mangalore University and has contributed as a paper setter and evaluator for various universities.
Dr. Krishna Prasad is a Senior Member of the IEEE and continues to engage in research collaborations and academic leadership activities.

He has authored three books (each with ISBN) and contributed to over ten book chapters in the fields of computer science, cybersecurity, and higher education. His innovative research output includes 15+ registered copyrights and 14 patents, several of which have already been granted.

A dynamic speaker and educator, Dr. Krishna Prasad has delivered over 35 guest lectures on Vedic Mathematics and Shortcut Techniques for Competitive Examinations, addressing audiences ranging from high school to postgraduate levels. He is a certified professional in Vedic Mathematics (Grade “O”) from the Indian Institute of Vedic Maths and Abacus, accredited by NABET and NIESBUD, Government of India.
He has also conducted expert sessions and FDPs on ChatGPT and its Applications in Research, Teaching, and Learning, and has been invited as a resource person for AICTE-ATAL Faculty Development Programs.
